Co-op opportunities

Get hands-on experience in your field while getting a school credit. Our co-op students work on real projects alongside experienced teams – where you will contribute from day one. Areas that we have hired co-op students include:

Summer student jobs (May to September)

Around 200 students work with us each summer.

From lifeguarding and maintaining parks to museum programs and office work – you’ll build skills and help keep things running smoothly. Explore summer opportunities in these areas:

Aquatics
Green Spaces & Parks

Help keep the City beautiful. You’ll work outdoors and get hands-on experience maintaining parks, trails, gardens, and other green spaces. Placements are available in these areas:

  • Horticulture
  • Sports Parks
  • Cemetery Operations
Historical Services

Bring local history to life. Help run programs, give tours, and work directly with visitors at museums and heritage sites. Jobs include:

  • Collections Assistant
  • Program Assistant
  • Morningstar Mill Assistant
  • Carousel Team Member

Work Locations: St. Catharines Museum, Welland Canals Centre, Morningstar Mill, and Lakeside Park Carousel

Other Summer Jobs

We also hire students in legal, finance, records, admin, and by-law enforcement – solid office experience that builds your professional skills. Examples include:

  • By-Law Enforcement Student

Note: Most summer student positions require enrollment in a post-secondary program related to the field. Aquatics positions don’t require post-secondary enrollment.

Seasonal & casual jobs

These roles run spring through fall and offer hands-on work with flexible scheduling.

Perfect if you want outdoor work or seasonal hours. Most hiring happens between mid-April through to November.
